About Grayling, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Grayling, Michigan serve as the county seat of Crawford County, and as of 2010, it was home to about 1,900 people. It is found in the middle of Northern Michigan, and the city’s greatest claim to fame comes form hosting the annual Au Sable River Canoe Marathon. Camp Graying – the largest training base for the National Guard in the country – is located near the city, and the Crawford AuSable School District serves the entire City of Grayling.

Grayling is a popular destination for visitors, especially during the summer. Many people enjoy spending time on Wakeley Lake or checking out the Grayling Fish Hatchery Museum Project. Hartwick Pines State Park offers hiking trails, a museum area, and a recreated logging camp, and visitors may enjoy a weekend at the campground, which features two registered trout ponds. The classic Rialto Theater is a popular destination for families, as is the Wellington Farm Park, which is a 60-acre living history museum that depicts life during the Great Depression.

Located in a humid continental climate zone, Grayling is a beloved tourist destination when the weather is warm. Summertime highs only reach the upper 70s at the peak of the season, although humidity levels can be high. Central air conditioning is a popular way to keep residents cool indoors.

Winter weather is dramatically different in Grayling. Like the rest of the northern portion of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, the winters here are very cold, snowy, and long in duration. This portion of the state sees average high temperatures below freezing from late Decenter through February. During the average season, the region will receive about 143 inches of total snow accumulation, which can lead to dangerous conditions indoors without the right climate controls in place. A gas or electric furnace with a high AFUE rating is the best option for efficient heating, as these systems will get a lot of work throughout the season.
